On May 5, the winners of the OneMain Financial 200 VIP Sweepstakes were given an all-access pass to Dover International Speedway. The excitement was full throttle from start to finish and we have the story to prove it. Let’s meet Sarah and Irene and check out what they got to do!
Our Grand Prize winner, Sarah, is a southern belle from Meridian, Mississippi. Her high-octane personality could fuel a race car and made the day more fun for everyone. She also surprised everyone with a wardrobe change before meeting the drivers and waving the green flag.
Irene, our First Prize winner, is from Bakersfield, California. She admits to having a need-for-speed which was obvious during the pace car ride along. Instead of gripping the door handle for safety, she was leaning forward from the backseat saying, “Faster! Faster!”
Each winner was allowed to bring one guest, so Sarah and Irene brought their husbands along. Let’s check out some highlights of their VIP experience:
It was only right for the sweepstakes winners to celebrate in Victory Lane. This one’s a keeper!
Kicking it behind the scenes with Elliott in Pit Row before the race. We made sure Irene didn’t sneak into the driver’s seat
Getting up close and personal with the #1 Chevrolet before inspection. You would’ve thought Sarah and Irene worked for NASCAR with all the questions they asked.
Sarah waiting on stage (in her second outfit) before driver introductions. She was the first to greet each driver after they were announced.
The group hanging out with Elliott in his personal trailer. Sarah and Irene also received autographed helmets (on the table).
Sarah 20-feet up in the flag stand getting the whole thing started. It must’ve been a rush to feel two dozen cars zoom underneath you!
Sarah and Irene also got a tour of Elliott’s car hauler and cheered from the infield during the race. To tell you the truth, the day was packed with excitement from start to finish. As the writer for our blog, I was able to ride shotgun with these awesome women and it was a privilege to hear their stories and be a part of their experience. I’d say we all took home the checkered flag that afternoon.
