November 4: South Carolina Pecan Festival in Florence, SC

By Matt Diehl • November 02, 2017

On November 4, the 14th annual South Carolina Pecan Festival will return to the streets of Historic Downtown Florence for food, fun and live entertainment. Held on the first Saturday of November each year, this family-friendly festival offers something for everyone. In fact, over 50,000 guests attend the event each year to “go nuts!”1

In addition to over 250 food and craft vendors, there are a variety of competitions for participants and spectators. Popular contests include a sidewalk chalk art competition and a pecan cook-off. For children in attendance, the festival offers pony rides, a kid’s entertainment stage and a free kids zone. As for live entertainment for adults, there are several areas to check out including a dance stage, a jazz stage and the main stage.

OneMain is participating in the festival again this year and will have a booth in the retail and arts & crafts section. Matthew Cardinali, branch manager of the Pamplico Highway branch in Florence, will be leading the efforts:

“We’re going to have a booth set up to interact with the crowd. We’ll be giving out free OneMain drink koozies and light-up pens and plan to raffle off a Bose Soundlink Color II speaker. My responsibilities will include organizing the volunteers, engaging our guests and handing out gifts.”

When asked what he looks forward to the most, Cardinali spoke about connecting with festivalgoers:

“I’m looking forward to interacting with the local community and meeting new people the most. It will give our branch a chance to introduce ourselves and let them know what we have to offer.”
