OneMain Financial hosted another Made on Main Street event Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Brunswick, GA to celebrate the upcoming beautification project for the town’s commercial center with a free, family-friendly block party.
Main Street Brunswick/Brunswick Downtown Development Authority (DDA) was one of seven organizations across the country to receive a $25,000 community action grant to help revitalize local communities. The awarded funds will be used to improve the streetscape along the main commercial areas of the town by installing bike racks, trash cans and planters.
To kick off the project, OneMain sponsored an exciting community festival where guests enjoyed complimentary food, live music, games, crafts and local artisanal vendors. The event was a complete success, where roughly 1,000 residents showed their support of the community with an afternoon of family fun.
Members of the Brunswick community enjoy the free, family-friendly event.
Main Street Brunswick/Brunswick DDA Executive Director Mathew Hill is thrilled to see this project come to life.
“The grant from OneMain Financial will not only help appearance, but will also reduce the amount of trash that ends up on the street,” said Hill. “This will be the first step in implementing revitalization plans for these areas.”
