Frequently Asked Questions about Springleaf Becoming OneMain

Springleaf acquired OneMain Financial, and we have changed our name to OneMain. We now offer our customized loan products and personal services to more communities, with over 1,700 branches in 44 states.

Yes. As the new OneMain, we offer our same customized loan solutions with personal and auto loans from $1,500 to $25,000. We continue to make loans above these amounts, subject to maximum or minimum size restrictions, which vary by state. But the maximum loan size also depends on your credit history, with larger loans only available to a small number of highly qualified applicants for vehicle-secured loans. Some vehicles, such as those used commercially or salvage/branded titles, may not be used as collateral. Additional loan size limits may apply to loans secured by discontinued vehicle models.

Your account number, loan terms, payment and due date will not change. Your loan remains with us and you still receive the same personal service. There are some circumstances where we may need to change your account number; if this occurs, we will notify you by mail.

Call or visit your branch and we will be happy to answer your questions. If you need to find your branch, please log in to your online account or check your billing statement. If you are not near one of our branches, please call 800-742-5465.

Yes. Your account number remains the same. If your account number changes at any time in the future, we will notify you first.

All active Springleaf social network pages changed their name to OneMain, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.

If you pay your loan off prior to October 2016, the name on your credit report will remain Springleaf Financial Services. For all accounts opened October 1, 2016 and after, the name on your credit report will change from Springleaf Financial Services to OneMain.

No, the name change on your credit report had no impact to your credit score.

No. Make your payments the same way you do today – including by phone, by mail, online or by visiting your branch.

Yes. The name of your current branch has changed to OneMain. Please contact your local branch to make payments or ask questions, as other branches may not be able to service your loan until our systems are fully integrated.

It will take us some time to fully integrate our systems, and we will notify you once the integration is finished. Until that time, you should continue to make payments at your current branch, by mail or online.

Your automatic payments will remain the same and will be deducted from your bank account as scheduled. The only change you’ll notice is the OneMain name on your bank statement instead of Springleaf.

To enroll in Direct Pay, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your OneMainFinancial.com account.
  2. Click “Enroll in Direct Pay” located on the Account Summary page under the Billing and Payment Settings section.
  3. Enter the required information in the Enroll for Direct Pay page and click “Continue.”
  4. Review your selections on the Enrollment Summary page.
  5. Read the Direct Pay terms and electronically sign the Enrollment Form for Direct Pay.

You will receive an email once your Direct Pay enrollment is complete. Please note it may take up to 24 hours for your enrollment to process in our system.

Yes, you can visit OneMainFinancial.com to make online payments. If you were previously enrolled in online account management, you can continue to use your current username and password.

Yes, you can download the new OneMain version of the mobile app from Google Play or the App Store. You’ll have the same options for managing your account and making payments. New: When you update your mobile app, you will be able to enroll in, earn and redeem Rewards* right from your app!

Your monthly statement will now have the OneMain name and logo on your envelope and statement. In addition, starting in October, when you pay more on your loan than scheduled by your loan agreement, you will no longer see a “No Payment Due” message in the “Total Amount Due” section of your statement. Instead, a payment will be due every month, which is required by the terms of your loan agreement. Your statement will show that a payment is due by your payment due date.

Your paperless statements will continue; however, we will also send your first new OneMain statement by mail to ensure you receive it.

To enroll in Paperless Statements, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your OneMainFinancial.com account.
  2. Click "Enroll in Paperless Statements" located on the Account Summary page under the Billing and Payment Settings section.
  3. Read and Agree to the legal terms and notices.
  4. Click "Enroll in Paperless Statements."

You will receive an email once your Paperless Statements enrollment is complete. Please note it may take up to 24 hours for your enrollment to process in our system.

With Paperless Statements, you will receive an email notification each month to your specified email address when a statement becomes available.

Yes. If you currently receive the monthly newsletter, you will continue to receive it, but the name will change to OneMain.

Yes. As a customer you can continue to access your free VantageScore® credit score. This is automatic when you log in to your online account. If you haven’t yet enrolled in online account management, you can do so here

Yes. You can still earn $100 when family and friends that you referred open a new loan1. However, any referral award checks you receive will come from OneMain.

Yes. The name of the program changed to OneMain Rewards, but the program remains the same2. You will still have the ability to earn points toward gift cards at favorite restaurants and retailers, along with access to discounts and savings. And the points you’ve earned through Springleaf will still be available for you to redeem. Yes. You can cancel at any time by calling Credit Insurance Cancellations at 1-800-325-2147 ext. 4685232 and Non-credit Insurance Cancellations at 1-800-325-2147 ext. 5113290 or by completing a cancellation request at your local branch.

If you are approved for a loan and decide to accept it after October 1, 2016, your loan will be provided by OneMain.

Yes, the offer you received will remain available for you to apply for through the expiration date noted on the offer you received.
