Text Message (SMS) Terms and Conditions

You're receiving OneMain SMS messages because you opted in when you applied for a OneMain loan. We send messages related to your application and to the servicing of your OneMain loan account and BrightWay credit card, if you are approved. You may also receive SMS messages because you texted a promotional keyword to a OneMain short code. In that case, you’ll receive SMS messages from us in response to your message(s).

Message frequency varies.

Although we protect the information you send us as much as we can control, we cannot guarantee that information sent over SMS messages is completely confidential. Therefore, transmission of information to you and to us over SMS message is at your own risk. To protect your privacy and the security of any sensitive info, please don’t send confidential information to us by SMS message. Instead, please call us, visit one of our branches or send by U.S. mail.

Text messages (SMS) sent between you and OneMain are stored by OneMain.

Short codes and how we use them

When you subscribe to OneMain SMS messages, we use short codes (5-to-6-digit phone numbers) to send you these communications. Each short code is used for a different set of messages, including: application updates, OneMain account servicing, special offers or info about our products and services. See below for the full list of the short codes that we use to keep you up to date on all things OneMain.

Free to recipient; data charges may apply if recipient clicks a link in the text message. Texts from this short code are an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.

Using SMS

When you subscribe or unsubscribe from a short code, that action only applies to that individual message code, not all OneMain SMS messages. You may still receive OneMain SMS messages from other short codes you’re subscribed to. Please see below for instructions on how to easily opt in or out:

  • Text JOIN to opt in for text messages.
  • Text STOP to stop receiving messages. After you text "STOP", we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from that number. If you want to stop receiving communications other than SMS messages, please call 1-800-290-7002.
