OneMain uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) as an additional layer of security to help protect sensitive info in your online account. To log into your online account after enabling MFA for the first time, you'll need to enter a one-time security code sent by email.
You can also choose to register a mobile number (no landlines) to receive a one-time code via SMS/text message. To enroll in SMS multi-factor authentication, follow the instructions at the login screen.
You can also enroll in SMS MFA (or update your MFA settings) at any time in your online account:
- Go to the Profile & Support section
- Select Security Settings
- Enroll in SMS multi-factor authentication
