Applying for a Loan
Log in to your OneMain online account to upload documents. If you haven't already, it's easy to set up an online account.
Once your online account is set up, you may have the option to connect your bank account. By connecting to the account where you get paid, it lets us easily verify your income, so you don't have to upload as many documents.
When taking photos to upload docs, make sure to:
- Use a contrasting background
- Don't crop or cut off doc edges
- Make sure your photo is in focus and free of any obstructions like fingers or other objects
- Upload only as a PDF or JPG/JPEG that's smaller than 25mb
Watch our photo and doc uploading guide here for more info.

After final loan approval, reviewing and signing your loan closing docs takes about 30-45 minutes.
After signing you can receive your funds one of the following ways and timing:
Debit card: Funds are available in your bank account as soon as an hour after loan closing.1
Direct deposit: Funds are available in your checking or savings account approximately 1-2 business days after loan closing.
Check: Issued as soon as the same day as loan closing. Availability of funds depends on when and where you deposit your check.
*Timing may vary based on: when you submit your application, how many documents are needed for final approval, and how long it takes for OneMain to receive, review, and verify those documents, and whether your loan is secured by collateral, among other factors.

OneMain is aware of an external advance fee scam using our name, logo and even fake branch details to offer fraudulent loans.
Here are a few things a OneMain team member will never do:
- We'll never ask for upfront fees or payment via gift cards (like Google Play cards).
- We'll never request your username(s) or password(s) for your bank account, OneMain account or any other account.
- We'll never deposit money in your account and ask you to send it back.
- We'll never use a Gmail account — if an email ends in @gmail.com, it’s not from OneMain.
Here’s what to do if you think you’ve been targeted:
- Stop all contact and don’t respond or send money
- Alert your bank if you shared financial details (account, PIN, credit card numbers, etc.)
- Place a fraud alert or freeze your credit with Experian, TransUnion, or Equifax
Report the scam to:
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC): www.ftc.gov or 877-438-4338
- FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): www.ic3.gov

Applying again with a co-applicant or using collateral might make it possible. Call 833-390-2053 to learn more, or you can contact your local branch.
Please note: OneMain evaluates all collateral to determine whether its value will adequately secure a loan. Vehicles used as collateral must be insured against physical damage for the term of the loan. Active duty military, their spouse and all dependents covered by the Military Lending Act may not pledge any vehicle as collateral.
Your collateral (usually a vehicle) is used to secure the loan. Full-coverage insurance protects its value in case of repair or replacement.
If you don't have insurance on your collateral, OneMain may get insurance on your behalf. The cost will be added to your monthly loan payment. If you have more questions, please call us today at 833-390-2053.
If you never received a link to complete your account setup, or you need a new link, you can click here to create your OneMain online account. (You can do this even if you already filled out this information.) Once you provide your information, a new verification link will be emailed to you.
If you prefer, you can call 833-390-2054 to request a new link.

At OneMain, a secured loan may be able to boost your borrowing power. By using collateral (usually something of value like a vehicle), you “secure” your financing and may qualify for a lower interest rate, lower monthly payment or even a higher loan amount.
You keep the use of your vehicle while repaying your loan, but if you stop paying, we have the right to take the collateral.
Here's what we may accept as collateral:*
- Automobiles
- Trucks
- Motorcycles
- Boats, campers and RVs
